Andi- January 2016
One day this month, Shawn and Lynley so graciously offered to pick up Andi and Eastman from school. Shawn picked up Eastman (which Eastman thought was so cool). (Oh, and did I mention that Eastman got to ride in the bike trailer with Turner becuase we did not leave carseats with Shawn and Lynley. Since they live so close to Eastman's school, they decided just to bike ride up there to pick him up.--Eastman thought this was the collest!) Lynley picked up Andi (which Andi loved). When I was done with work and made it over to pick up Eastman and Andi, they were playing at the park. Lynley said she just had to tell me the conversation that her and Andi had in the car. Andi was talking to Lynley in the car on the way from school. Andi was telling Lynley how she was going to make ice sculptures of her mom and dad when they die so that she can remember them. Then she paused and said, but they might melt, so I might need to sculpt them out of something else. Lynley said maybe bronze like the statues in Papa's backyard. Andi's response, "Lynley that is brilliant!" Then after a few seconds Andi told Lynley, "I usually think my uncles are smarter than my aunts...(long pause)... but not today."

Eastman January 2016
Eastman January 2016
Is it really 2016?! Wow! Happy New Year!!!
1/2: Well I guess that we are instilling in this boy that he can do anything. Whenever Eastman hears the word "can't," he quickly says (with some sternness) "What's that word?!" Even at two-years old, he knows that we do not say the word "can't" in the Strickland family! A Strickland can do anything!
1/3: Eastman and I were leaving the auditorium at church to take him to his Bible class. Dave leaned in to give Eastman a kiss and Eastman told Daddy, "I'll give you a kiss later, Dad."
Would you believe that this boy counted to 39?!
1/4: Eastman is pretty good at imitating his Papa. (Dave has always done a pretty good Mark T impersonation. It is endearing. Well now Eastman does. My dad does have some trademark phrases that he says.) One day on the way to their house, Eastman said (in a deep Papa voice), "Papa says, 'Well, well, well. How's my little boy doing everyday?'" It was so cute and so sweet. That is what exactly something that Papa says to him. I just had to smile and laugh.
