33 months

Another month older...and still blowing us away with her eagerness to learn and her quick wit.

Andi is really interested now in sounding out words and wanting to know what letter each word starts with.  She is even wanting to know how to spell some words.

Once again I want to jot down and share some of the funny things Andi did or said this past month.

11/22:  While we were in Abilene celebrating Thanksgiving with Dave's family, Dave's Aunt Martha and her husband Keenan came over to visit for a while.  Keenan has a lot of tattoos, covering both arms.  Andi took a look at him and asked, "Do you have stamps?"  We all just died laughing.  How cute of her to think and ask him if he got stamps.

Also over Thanksgiving break, Andi curiously asked, "Will my baby brother have brown eyes like me?"  She has been very sweet preparing to be a big sister.  She already loves her little brother very much and is eager to meet him and help care for him.  She is already trying to care for him-feeding me pieces of her meals, telling me that Bubba wants some.  She also says that if he cries she will give him a bottle and read him a book.  He has been very active lately, kicking a lot.  He kicks most when Andi and I are reading books.  I guess he is already wanting to read like his big sister and be involved in what she is doing.

11/27:  This evening Andi was (as usual) consumed with pretend play.  This time instead of us being cartoon or book characters, we were her school friends.  I was Kinley (says she is her best friend and talks about her all the time)  and Dave was Will (her and Will have been in the same class since they were six months old.)  It was just so cute for her to walk us through a day at school with her and her friends.  She was the line leader (of course) and we held onto the rings as we walked the hall together.

12/6:  I was dropping Andi off at Nana's house before work as usual and asked Andi for a hug as I was leaving.  Andi looked up at me, reach out her arms, and said, "I'll just get a Bubba hug" and wrapped her arms around my belly.  Precious!

12/9: Andi's Bible school teacher sought us out to tell us that Andi made her laugh during class-so much so that she has been telling this to all of her friends.  She said that they were talking about manna from heaven and also talking about other foods that God has blessed us with.  They were using stickers to put on their papers.  Andi picked a banana sticker, held it up to her teacher, and said, "Would you like a banana?" After Kristin said "Yes."  Andi quickly responded with, "What are you, a monkey?"  Kristin said that it was just so funny how quickly she came up with it and how she said it.

12/17: This one might be Dave's favorite story.  I will preface with the notion that I did debate telling him.  But I thought that it was too good not to share.  Andi and I were at Dillard's finishing up our Christmas shopping.  We walked in and near the entrance of the store was a life-sized standing cut-out of Justin Beiber.  Andi just stopped and stared.  In my head I thought, "Oh my!  She is way too young to have a crush!  Is he really that mesmerizing?!  Wow!  Andi is only two!"  Before I could dwell on that thought too long, Andi reached up and grabbed his hand and hugged his leg and said, "Oh, Daddy!  I'm so glad we found you.  We have been looking all over for you."  I laughed out loud.  A couple of girls that were walking by laughed out loud too.  I wondered- "Hmmm are they thinking, "wow, she must have a cute husband" or were they thinking, "oh this poor child.  Her mom is telling her that Beiber is her dad."  :)  HeeHee.  It really was a funny moment.  Andi just continued for a long time holding onto his hand and/or leg and saying, "Oh Daddy, I've missed you."  So as you can see, I debated whether or not I would tell Dave.  I did not want this to go to his head.  But I told him and he ate it up and wanted me to tell others this funny and flattering story.  :)

It is official.  Andi's favoirite color is Pink.  She reminds us constantly.  Anytime she sees something pink, she wants it and will tell us, "You know?  My favorite color is pink."

Nana gave Andi an ornament and told her that she could take it home to hand on her tree.  The ornament was a small stocking.  Andi said, "This is a stocking Bubba." She came home and hung the tiny stocking on the mantle next to her stocking.  What a sweet girl.  Already thinking of and caring for her little brother.

32 months

The days keep going by so quickly!

Andi contiues to be big into pretend play.  She is always using her imagination.  We never know who she is going to be and what role she is going to want us to play.  We are often a new character each day or deifferent depending on what we are doing at the moment.  In the car, she likes to pretend that we are The Little Einsteins.  The car is 'Rocket,' Dave is Quincy, Andi is Leo, I am Annie.  Another favorite of hers continues to be Winnie the Pooh.  When I drop her off at Nana's she often says, "Bye, Kanga."  And I say, "Bye, Roo.  I love you."  A new favorite pretnd play is Captain Hook.  Andi usually makes Dave be Captain Hook.  But it is really funny and cute when Andi pretends to be Captain Hook and talks in a scruffy, deep voice.  Andi is also a big fan of Dora and Boots.  I am usually Dora and she is Boots.  We go on adventures around the house and yard.  When not playing a particular character, she likes to pretend to be a kitty cat and sometimes a puppy dog-giving puppy kisses.

Here are some particular moments in time when Andi did or said something cute and funny:
10/7:
Andi and I went to visit Dave at his school since I had the day off.  One of Dave's friends gave Andi some animal crackers to snack on.  We were asking her what animals they were.  She picked one out and said, "This is a dromedary.  A dromedary has one hump and a camel has two."  Love that girl!

10/24:
Nana was reading Little Miss Muffet.  Nana got to the part to say "along came a spider..."  Andi chimed in, "Nana, that's not a spider, that's an arachnid!"  Oh my!  We had been talking about spiders being arachnids and having eight legs.  Just shows that she is a little sponge, soaking it all in.  She has even now been singing, "The Itsy-Bitsy Spider Arachnid."  What a clever little girl!
Shawn was reading her a book and got to a page that had seals on it.  Andi said to him, "That's a sea lion not a seal, Uncle Shawn."

Later that same day when Andi was playing with Shawn, his phone started ringing (quacking).  his ring tone sounds like a duck.  Andi asked, "Shawn, is that your friend duck or duck-billed platypus?"

10/27:
We got to go the The State Fair of Texas October 18th, the day before Big Tex said his final farewell.  I am thankful that we got to go.  Andi and I went with Nana, Papa, Shane, Anna, Shawn, and Lynley.  Poor Dave did not get to go b/c he could not get out of work in time.  We had a really good time.  We rode the ferris wheel, ate some yummy foods, rode a couple rides, played games and actually won prizes (all of which were given to Andi) and more.  The next week, Dave asked Andi, "What did you think about Big Tex?"  Andi's response, "I think he was talking very slowly."  I burst into laughter becuase that was exactly right.  When we were at the Fair, she stared at him in amazement for a long while and I guess this is what was going through her head while she watched/listened to him talk.
10/28:
I had gotten Andi a really cute ice cream cone costume (at a great price) for Halloween.  Dave and I were telling her how cute she would be but her response was, "I'm going to be a cat. I told my classmates I was going to be a cat."  I laughed, and so did Dave, becuase of the phrase "classmates" and because it is no surprise that she wanted to be a cat.  She then decided that mom had to be a cat too.
11/10:
We went over to see JJ and Brad.  JJ asked, "Andi, what does your daddy do for his job? For work?" Andi's response: "He's a golf player."  Of course, Dave loved this and said, "I wish!"

Shawn told me one day that Andi put her hand on his shoulder and said, "I'm just so worried about you, Darling."  We do not know what she meant by that, but just so cute.

Her teacher at school said that one day, she turned to her friend Will, held his face in her hands and said, Look into my eyes, Will."
She loves school and has been doing so well there.  Her best friend at school is Kinley and her other favorite friends are Will and Brynn (Brynnie as Andi calls her).  Andi will talk about these friends all the time!

Andi loves to have her arms scratched!  Really it can be anything, her legs, back, arms...she loves being scratched.   In a pathetic little, sweet, soft voice she will say, "Scratch it."  She will even push her long sleeves up for me to scratch her arms. This reminds me of my Ninnie.  Ninne would always scratch our arms when we were in teh car on the way to somethng.  I mentioned this to Anna Lee and Lynley and they both said that Shane and Shawn like to have their arms scratched.  Anna Lee said that she will wake up and see Shane scratching his arms in his sleep sometimes.  Just a sweet little reminder of Ninnie.

"Is there a baby in your belly?"

These pictures were taken few couple weeks ago...so if you can imagine, I am even bigger now.  :)  I think I was 16 weeks when these were taken.  (I am now 20 weeks!)

Andi's Halloween Party at School

Andi's school had a pumpkin hunt and then her class had a small halloween party.

Andi had fun decorating pumpkin cookies (and eating them too, of course)!

Andi is sitting next to her best friend at school, Kinley.  (Kinley's mom sent me these pictures since I was not able to make it to the party and pumpkin hunt. -Thank you!)  Andi talks about Kinley all the time: "Kinley is my best friend."  When we ask what she did at school, it usually involves, "Played with Kinley."  We made some halloween treats for her class (I'll post pics of those later) and Andi on several occasions reminded me, "Don't forget about Kinley.  We need to make one for Kinley."
Class picture after the pumpkin hunt.  Andi looks like she had a lot of fun and was proud to show off the pumpkin she picked out.

31 months

31 months
(Sorry-no pics to go along with this one.  See the pumpkin patch or fun in the park)

The months continue to fly by!  Slow down, time!

A few of Andi's cuteness this past month:

9/22: I was preparing dinner and Andi was sitting down at the dinner table.  She looked up at me and said, "Mommy, I'm waiting patiently."  I couldn't help but laugh!  What two-year old uses the word patiently?!
9/27: Andi has already started to pick up on phrases that my dad says.  One Thursday when I went to pick Andi up after work, (I don't remeber exactly what it was in regards to (maybe Andi's shoes were untied)), Andi said "Papa's not doing his job." (in Papa's voice)  Andi not only has picked up on Papa's catch phrases but will also say them in a deeper, slower "Papa voice."

9/29: Saying a prayer at night: Andi added, "Thank you God for my perfect, pretty puppy Pearl Pearl."
10/15: Andi wanted something and I told her to ask nicely.  She said, "Por favor."
10/15: "Daddy, do you have a baby in your belly? No?  Cause you're a boy."  I think Dave took a little offense to this.  (I love you, Honey!)  :)
Anytime we see a stop sign, Andi tells me, "Mommy, stop at the stop sign!  S-T-O-P!

Andi has a couple of new songs that she likes to sing.  She likes "I'm in the Lord's Army" and alos wants to sing it cowboy style "Yee-Haw!"  Her favorite song to sing right now is the Wibbly- Wobby song.  "Wibbly-wobbly Wandi, an elephant sat on Andi!"  She will sing it over and over, naming all of her family memebers, friends, stuffed animals.  I think it is great-She is learning how to rhyme.  Andi also likes to sing the Months of the Year song over and over.  What a smart girl!  Already knows the months of the year.  She has also gotten to where she will say days of the week randomly.  She doesn't necessarily know which day of the week it was, but she will say things like, "On Saturday, Papa took me there."  "We ate Chickfila on Tuesday."  Pretty cute how she is trying to figure out the days of the week.  Her favorite stuffed animal this month is Lady.  Probably because her favorite movie right now is Lady and the Tramp.

Love you, sweet Andi!

Fun at the Park

Andi absolutely loves going to the park to play.  When we go, we usually take Pearl with us.  Andi has gotten to where she needs to walk her dog too-her name is Big White Pearl Pearl Puppy.  See below how she even ties her up to one of the picnic tables like I do with Pearl.  Pretty precious!

She has no fear at the park.  This is Andi going down the tallest, swervy slide.  There are two playgrounds at this park.  One is marked for ages 2-5 and the other for ages 5-10.  Andi thinks she is too big to play on the little playground and prefers the big playground.  Slow down, Andi!  Mommy is not ready for you to be a big girl!  :)
A different day at the park, a couple days later.  Note that she is now in long sleeves and pants.  Texas weather!  Shorts one day and pants and jackets the next!
Andi has Eeyore with her today.  She loves that little donkey!
Once again no fear!  Not only goes down the longest, tallest slide, but also climbs up it!

ACU Homecoming

Last weekend was ACU's Homecoming and Dave's 10 year reunion.  We had a great time visiting with old friends and taking Andi to the homecoming parade.  She loved it.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch in McKinney 10/13/12 with our good friends Michelle and Claire.  The girls had a great time dancing in the hay, riding the wagon trail, picking out a tiny pumpkin, and riding a big horse.

30 months

These pictures are from Claire's 2nd birthday party in September.

Andi discovered the stickers for a party favor and enjoyed decorating herself.

Yee-haw!

30 months

Yes, I realize that I am a little behind-Ok a month behind in my blog postings.  Andi is actually 31 months old today.  That post will come later today.  :)

Here is a little run down of things that Andi has said that made us laugh:
9/2: Dave tooted. Andi said, "Daddy that's yucky! You better go potty."
9/6: "I'm too pretty to cry."

9/7: Andi asked me, "Is there a baby in your belly?"

9/8: One day while we were laying on my bed, Andi put her head on my belly and said, "I hear the baby. She's saying 'whah.'"

9/16: "Pearl doesn't feel very good. I have a diagnosis."  Andi loves to play doctor and give everyone a check-up.

9/17: "I had a fabulous day with Nana."

Andi loves to sing.  She is singing constantly and one of her favorite new songs is "One Little Monkey Swinging in a Tree."  She has also become a fan of "Blue Skies and Rainbows" and I am impressed that she can sing the whole thing!

Andi's favorite food is mac&cheese.  Her favorite places to eat are Chickfila and Mooyah Burger.  She enjoys her morning bowl of cereal (and donuts ("baby donuts") or sausage rolls.  We have become big fans of Max's Donut Shop.  Andi will even request it by name.  Is that bad?!  The other day I went to Elke's Market in the same shopping strip and Andi asked if we were going to Max's Donut Shop!  Uh Oh!

If I haven't told the whole world already, Andi is more than completely potty trained.  She was trained very quickly.  Took about a week.  So she has been potty trained now for a few months.  Even wakes up dry from her 10 hour night of sleep!

She wears shoe size 7 and wears most 2T clothes.

Her favorite TV show is Little Einsteins and she also likes Dora the Explorer.  Those are the two she requests most.  Her favorite movie right now is Lady and the Tramp.

She likes to have an animal to sleep with and takes one to school with her.  She will remind me by saying, "Mommy, I need a snuggly animal to take with me."  Her favorite animal right now is Eyore.  She loves her "little donkey" and will immitate him in his low, slow, sad voice.  It is really funny!

She is a good sleeper, sleeping in her "baby bed" until the new baby comes (she has informed us).  Her teachers at school tell us that she is a great napper for them too.  When it is nap time, she puts her head down on her mat and falls right to sleep.  Precious baby!

What a sweet, funny, spirited little girl!

First Day of School (September 6th, 2012)

Hope that the pictures tell the story.  When we got to school, Andi gave us each a hug and then walked over to the desks, sat down, and began drawing.  Her teachers looked at me and said, "Well, looks like she won't have any trouble."  We smiled and I was proud of my girl.  No tears for eitehr of us.  What a big girl!

29 months

Here is a run down of some of the cute things Andi has done or said this past month:

7/18: Papa will ask Andi to close her eyes.  Andi will close her eyes really tight, smile really big, and wait for Papa to give her a big kiss.

7/21: Andi likes to find the moon at night before going to bed and while we were in California, we would look each night and were not able to find the moon.  Andi one night flat out said, "I don't think California has a moon!"

7/23: Andi slept all night in her big girl bed.  (She actually asked to and wanted to sleep in her big girl bed.)  She goes back and forth, usually requesting to sleep in her "baby bed."

7/24: "Pearl is my favorite dog in the whole wide world!"

7/24: Like I have said last month, Andi has been asking for a kitten.  Well since we have yet to get her a kitten, She has started pretending that Pearl is a cat.  She even renamed Pearl, "Gilbert the cat."

7/25: Andi was trying to get past me and said, "Excuse me old lady." What?!  I quickly, while laughing, had to inform her that was not nice to call her mommy an old lady!

7/25: Andi absolutely loves to reenact the three billy goats gruff.  She will ask me or Dave to be the troll while she plays the parts of all three billy goats gruff and then she will want to be the troll while one of us pretends to be the goats.  It is really cute.  She will even take a bow after her performance.

7/26: While coloring, Andi really likes having her hand traced as tracing other people's hands.  One day while we were upstairs Andi was coloring on her AquaDoodle mat. Andi became very frustrated because Pearl would not hold still and put her paws on the mat for Andi to trace them.
7/26: While at Nana's house Andi found the ball to the foosball table and Andi asked Nana what the ball was used for.  Nana explained and showed Andi that it was used for the foosball game. Andi said she wanted to play. When playing, Andi told Nana, "My daddy helped me play this game when I was a little girl, I mean, when I was younger."

7/27: I asked Andi if she wanted to go to shopping with me at Target.  She quickly replied, "I want to go to Target and buy anything I want!"  Uh-Oh!  I'm in trouble!

7/29: Dave and I went to pick up Andi from Bible class and her teacher told us that they usually play for a little while before starting class.  Her teacher said that after a few minutes of playing, Andi came up to her and asked, "Can we start Bible class now?"  She said it was so precious and she can tell taht she really likes Bible class.  Her teacher told us that she is her best student and always listens intently and sings all the songs.  Andi is the youngest one in her class-we wanted to move her up an age group because she does better with the older kids and enjoys a more structured lesson, versus playtime and ha

"that's where I took swimming lessons!"

8/3: quizzing in family members names and knows all first and last names and nicknames

8/4: "I can't..." I said, what's word?" "I'm having difficulty."

Loves reenact ing the three billy goats gruff

28 months

A quick (but maybe not short) post including some of Andi's funny sayings/doings this past month...

Dave and I went to Cancun 6/21-6/25 and left Andi with my parents.  While we were gone, Andi renamed Pearl, "Sharky."  Even for a couple weeks after we returned, Andi would go around the house calling for "Sharky!"

6/27: When putting Andi to bed night, I asked if she wanted to sleep in her baby bed or big girl bed. She said, "I want to sleep in my big girl bed and you can sleep with me." I told her, "I cannot sleep with you.  Andi sleeps in Andi's bed and Mommy sleeps in Mommy's bed." She insisted. I then said to her, "You get to sleep with your little animals in our bed." She chimed in with, "And you get to sleep with your little animal, Daddy...Daddy polar bear." We just laughed together and I told her that was exactly right.

Andi only slept in her big girl bed once this past month.  She requested her "baby bed" when asked.  She still likes the secure, snug feeling of her crib.  Her favorite thing to sleep with has been "Eyore the donkey."  She really likes Winnie the Pooh and Eyore is her favorite character.  Most nights when putting her to bed, she asks, "Can you tell me a story about Winnie the Pooh?"  She will sometimes say, "Can you tell me an adventure of Winnie the Pooh?"  I start in with my story and list all of Winnie the Pooh's friends and if I forget one, Andi quickly chimes in with,  "and (ex. Piglet) too."  She does not want any friends to be left out.
6/29: Pooped in the potty!  Andi is officially potty trained. That didn't take long.  Like I said last month, urinating in the toilet was easy and she caught on quick, but pooping was intimidating.  But that did not last too long.  After going for the first time in the potty, she has gone in it consistently ever since.  She still wears a diaper to bed, but almost always wakes up dry.  She will tell us when she needs to go potty.  She will say, Mommy (Daddy)!  I need to go potty!  Also, she wants us to tell her a story when she needs to go potty.  If there are no books at hand, she will ask one of us to tell her a story (usually about Winnie the Pooh).
Was wearing a pull up and said, "Take this off, Mommy." She sat on the toilet and did it. She was so proud of herself and we bragged on her a lot.  She then bragged on herself a lot too.  She got a new art toy for her accomplishment.  Each time after going poop in the potty after that first time, she will run out and brag on herself and say, I went poo-poo in the potty.  Now I can have that new art toy."  It is great that she does not expect a new toy each time, just the same new toy that she got the first time.  :)

7/1: Andi continues to impress me...constantly.  I have told about how interested she is into dinosaurs.  Andi knows her dinosaurs names and descriptions.  I can ask her, "Which one has three horns" and she will answer, "Triceratops."  I can point to a Stegosaurus and she will say, "That is a stegosaurus."

7/2: "It's just pretend..."  Andi will use this phrase often.  She is very good at pretend play and has an outstanding imagination.  If she wants something (and we don't have one anywhere) I can pretend to hand her something and say, "Here it is."  She will accept it and say, "Thank you, Mommy."

7/3: Started saying "y'all."  It is really cute.  She knows if there are tow or more people, she should say y'all instead of you.

7/10: Andi said, "Now I'm a real princess, Daddy.  And you are a prince.  Mommy is a princess too."  Adorable!

7/11: "I wish I could have my own little kitten at my house."  Yes, these exact words came out of Andi's mouth.  And she has said it several times since then.

7/12: When we were at the airport departing for Los Angeles, California, Andi is so excited! She keeps saying, "We are flying on an airplane to California to see Uncle Shawn and Aunt Lynley."

While on the plane, when the rest of the passengers were nervous and anxious due to the extreme turbulence, Andi wasn't.  She was saying, "Whee!"

After we landed and Andi was looking out the plane window, she said, "That's the biggest airplane I ever saw!" over and over again.

7/15:  Andi loves her uncles.  She had a great time getting to spend time with both Shane and Shawn.  Andi really liked going to Shawn and Lynley's hotel room and making at tent on their bed.  She would pretend that crocodiles were on the floor (or sharks) and would then offer a solution, "Maybe I have something in my backpack that could help."  What an imagination.  Oh, and she learned to like pillow fights.  :)

7/16: Driving home from the baseball game, we were talking about going to Universal Studios and I said something about there not being much there for Andi to do.  Andi looked at us and said, "Maybe I can get my face painted."  Where does she come up with these things.  We have not ever talked about face painting or has she gotten it done.

After the baseball game, when we got back to the hotel Shawn asked Andi, What did you do at the game tonight."  Andi said "I watched you play baseball."  Of course!

As always Andi does or says something new eacha nd everyday and she just continues to amaze and impress me.  I love my little princess!

27 months

Andi is yet another month older!  This month has been full of fun.  Here is a picture of her silly face.  She will say, "Mommy, look at this...is that silly?!"

To start...Andi is potty training.  She is doing great and has no trouble at all using the toilet to go pee.  She has a small toilet upstairs but is really just fine going on the big potty at home or when we are out and about.  Going poo in the toilet is another story.  She is working on that one.  Here is a picture of her potty chart.  She gets a sticker each time she goes to the potty.  After twenty stickers she got a present...what did she pick out?  a dinosaur puzzle. :)

Andi continues to loves animals.  She loves her little toy white puppy that she calls "Pearl-Pearl."

She has also decided that her new favorite thing to do or game to play is to go on a "safari."  Andi will ask for her flashlight and we will begin the safari.  She points out several animals along the way on our safari through the house.  When we are on our quest form animals, Andi will point out different animal footprints.  What an imagination!  She loves to pretend!  Recently we have also been traveling through the jungle or take a boat to see animals on our adventures.  Her favorite safari animals to discover are lions, cheetahs, water buffalo, elephants, gazelle, and giraffes.  When in the jungles, she spots leopards, monkeys, flamingos, and tigers.  On our ocean adventures she always sees seals, walrus, and humpback whales.
We have already been doing a lot of swimming and I have a feeling that we will do lots more.  Andi loves "swimming in the swimming pool."  She has even started swim lessons.

Here are a few cute things she did or said this past month:

5/20: At church Andi was putting her dinosaurs down for a nap and was  giving them kisses.  She was saying, "Night-night dinosaurs.  Time to take a nap."

We were at the pool. Andi was standing out of the pool, in the shallow beach/wading area and said, "That will cool me off...."  She the started running and yelling, "The swimming pool!!!" She did this over and over..."That will cool me off...the swimming pool!" while running into the water.

5/21: I went to pick up Andi after school and she told me, "Nana told me a story about the animals. There was the biggest snake I ever saw!"

5/21: On the way home from Nana's house Andi sang me a song,  it went like this: "I love my mommy. She's so sweet. I love my mommy. She's so pretty."

5/21: Andi got her own cup from her drawer and filled her own cup with water from the water dispenser on the fridge.

5/22: Dave asked her what she wanted for breakfast and her response was, "Hmmmm...not broccoli."

5/22: Andi will now make an "oooh" face if you get into to her/she gets in trouble.

5/28: "Mmmm, I love milk!"  (Shocking!  This coming from my child that I have had to bribe to drink milk!)

5/31: "I can't believe my eyes open!"

6/4: When putting Andi in PJs for bed, Andi hugged me and said, "Mommy, you're my best friend." I was mush. Melted my heart!

6/8: Did not change a wet or poopy diaper.  Potty training success.

6/9: "Welcome to Mommy's potty!"  Also day 2 of no wet diapers!!!

6/13: Dave was asleep in bed.  Andi looked at him and then back at me and said, "Don't wake Daddy Polar Bear. He might growl and grumble!"
