Andi's 6th birthday party
This year Andi decided early on that she wanted a "paint-your-nails" birthday party. She did waver back and forth about not inviting the boys to her party, but decided that boys do not really want to paint their nails. If they came, they would have to play with Eastman...so we decided girls only. We looked into having it a nail salon, but then decided that it would be more fun to have a spa backyard day at Nana and Papa's house,. The girls got to paint their nails and then get in the hot tub and pool for a swim party. They all had a blast!

Eastman Rex is THREE!
Oh how I love this boy! He is so precious! So affectionate. He makes it a point to give me big hugs and lots of kisses! He still wants to be held and snuggled (all the time). He is almost too big for me to carry around anymore. He likes to get a running start to come give me a big hug and jump into my arms. He tells me how many kisses he needs to give me before I can leave for work in the mornings. At night he wants me to snuggle with him in his bed (Andi still does too) and Eastman tells me, "Snuggle with me for ten minutes, Mommy." When he wakes up in the morning, he sweetly, over and over says, "Mommy, I need you." Andi aslo wakes up and says this. The only difference is that she says it twice. Eastman says it over and over until I get to his room. Both kids have new rooms. During spring break, we moved Andi to the far bedroom that was the guest room. Eastman's room became the guest room. Andi's room became Eastman's room. We did this so that each kiddo could have their own bathroom. When Eastman had to go in the night or early morning, he would not get up and go to the guest bathroom on his own. He would call for me. Now he has his own bathroom and knows that he can get up and go when he needs to. (Although he really never does. He usually doesn't even go first thing in the morning. Often waits until after breakfast to go.) Eastman still takes and needs a nap everyday. Takes about a 1.5-2 hour nap after lunch. I have learned in the past few months that Eastman has an incredible memory. Just like his sister. Just like his Daddy. He can remember where he put something weeks ago. When we watch a movie we have seen before (even if just once) he knows what the characters are going to say or do or what happens next. This boy is smart, sweet, funny (always wants to make people laugh), and such a joy!
Eastman's Favorites (3 years old)
Here are the answers to our now annual "favorites" questions. His answers are in blue, since that is currently his favorite color.
1. What is your favorite color? Blue (Well, his actual answer was: blue and green and orange and black and white and gray)
2. What is your favorite toy? Beach Ball and Hulk (Yes, he does really like both of these toys. He likes his beach ball so we can play the "mummy game." He came up with this. One person walks towards the person holding the beach ball. The person walking pretends to be a mummy (or a zombie) and then the person with the beach ball tried to hit the mummy and then the mummy falls down and acts dead. It is really funny to watch Eastman do this. He got a Hulk action figure for his birthday and he loves it. I have to add that his baseball and bat might be his favorite toy. Is always asking Daddy is they can play baseball. In addition, I think that his true favorite toys are a bunch of tiny plastic characters. Most of them are from movies: Toy Story, Minions, Mickey and friends, etc. He plays with them all the time and it is precious to watch. He lays on the floor and plays pretend. He acts out lots of different scenarios and I often just sit back and observe him playing.
3. What is your favorite fruit? little oranges (He really likes mandarin oranges. He is a pretty good fruit eater. He likes bananas, oranges, apples, watermelon, grapes, and pineapple. He does not like berries.)
4. What is your favorite TV show? PJ Masks (We have also been watching some Little Einsteins in the morning and he has started liking it.)
Favorite movie? Inside Out (Also, Minions, Despicable Me, Big Hero 6, Frozen)
Favorite movie? Inside Out (Also, Minions, Despicable Me, Big Hero 6, Frozen)
5. What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch? Sandwich (This boy likes to eat. He wakes up in the morning asking for breakfast or a snack. In his lunchbox we usually pack meat and cheese, meat sticks, a sandwich, or leftovers.)
6. What is your favorite outfit? coat (Well, I am not sure why he answered coat. This boy never wears a coat. He does like to have socks on his feet. He even likes to sleep in socks. He enjoys wearing sunglasses. He likes putting on his PJs at night. One favorite outfit, probably not. If I had to pick one, it would be his Texas Rangers t-shirt.)
7. What is your favorite game? Zootopia and Mouse Trap (I do not think that Zooptopia is a game, but it is a new movie that we just saw at the theater. The kids liked it a lot, although Eastman said it was scary! He does like to play Mouse Trap. Likes a lot of board games. Likes his fishing game. Monopoly Jr. Fireman Pet Rescue and Connect Four Launchers. When Eastman plays, we kind of just have to go with his rules and game play. (Which does not make Andi very happy. She likes to play by the rules. Kind of like her Daddy.))
8. What is your favorite snack? pretzels (Likes all snacks. I feel like he is always asking if he can have a snack. Crackers, chips, cereal, granola bar, cereal bar, etc.)
9. What is your favorite animal? puppy dog or elephant (Puppy dog for sure. He likes to pretend that he is a baby puppy dog and his name is Bluey.)
10. What is your favorite song? ABCs (Eastman loves to sing. It melts my heart to hear him sing. When he comes home from school singing a song, it makes me so happy. His new song from school is "I'm putting on my armor" Precious little singing voice.)
11. What is your favorite book? Pirate pop-up (Eastman likes to read at least three books every night. He likes his pirate pop-up book, Jake and the Pirates voice activated book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Peanut Butter and Cupcake.)
12. Who is your best friend? Sutton (Sweet boy loves to play with friends. He loves Sutton and often asks if he can come over. Crystal and Uncle Crazy recently said that Sutton says that Eastman really loves him because he gives him good hugs. Some of his other favorite friends are Jackson, Mason, and from school Caleb, Braxton, and Callen.)
13. What is your favorite cereal? (Loves all cereal. Favorite would be Honey Nut Cheerios)
14. What is your favorite thing to do outside? (Playing outside on the playground or swings. Going for a walk. Playing baseball-hitting the baseball.)
15. What is your favorite drink? water, milk, orange juice (Absolutely to the first two. He mainly only drinks water and milk. Occasionally will have a juice box or Gatorade as a treat.)
16. What is your favorite holiday? Halloween because he likes to dress up and trick or treat. (Holidays are wonderful. He had a great time celebrating his birthday. Loves Christmas. Easter too.)
17. What do you like to take to bed with you at night? puppy and Mickey (Eastman is not as attached to his stuffed animals like his sister is. But he does like to have one or two in his bed at night. Usually does not care which animals. His bedtime animals usually do not leave his bed, so naturally, these are the ones he sleeps with every night.)
18. What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? cereal (Both kids loves cereal and eat it every morning for breakfast. I have to say that his favorite cereal is Honey Nut Cheerios.)
19. What do you want for dinner on your birthday? pizza or nachos (Eastman chose to go to Braum's for his birthday dinner. I think he really just wanted to blue birthday cake ice cream for dessert, but ate a burger and fries too.)
20. What do you want to be when you grow up? Fireman
