2 months old! It is amazing how quickly the days go by!
Stats from his 2 month check up: (where he had to get lots of shots! Five shots! (They were out of the combo for instead of three, he got five needles. Poor baby! :( He ran a fever 102 during the night and Momma was worried.)
weight: 14 pounds 5 ounces {90-95 percentile}
height: 25 inches {95-98 percentile}
head circumference: 16.5 inches {>97 percentile}
A few happenings this past month...Five weeks old: He was getting a little tummy time and I heard him making a sucking sound. He found his forearm and had given himself a hickey. Really, the mark stayed for a couple days! He does nt really want to take a pacifier. It makes him mad because he cannot get milk from it. If we can calm him and get him to take one, he gets frustrated because he cannot hold it in his mouth yet, so we have to hold it for him.
Six weeks: At 6 weeks to the day, he slept 8 hours straight at night. He has always been a really good night sleeper (yay!), but this was impressive! He has kept it up too! Dave and I say that 8 pm is the bewitching hour because like clockwork, Eastman is usually out for the night around this time. He likes bedtime. Once he is asleep for the night, it is hard to wake him. There have been nights that I will try to get him to wake up and eat when I go to bed at 10pm or so, but no luck. He does not wake up! It is crazy because he is a very light sleeper during the day-the slightest sound or movement startles and wakes him.
Seven weeks: He started trying to bring hand to mouth. It is very funny to watch. He will lift his hands in the air, stare at one hand and move it around, trying to get it to his mouth. Not much success yet. Makes me wonder if he will be a thumb-sucker.
Also at seven weeks is when he started having just one massive poo daily versus poop with every diaper change. Let the blowouts begin. Oh, and he grunts forcefully and without shame when passing gas or pooping. He is a stinky boy alright!
Eight weeks: My Favorite! He has started smiling at us! He can focus on our faces and takes turns smiling and talking (cooing) at Dave, Andi, and I when talking to him. My heart melts! His sister sure does love him and gets excited when he smiles at her. She asks to hold him and if fussy, she says, "I think he needs his Sissy."
Eastman is growing too quickly. I'll post exact stats when we go to the doctor next week. He no longer has that newborn look. He is strong. He can hold his head up for quite a while and wipes his head side-to-side when trying to get comfortable enough to sleep. Still not sure what his eye color will be. Most of the time they look dark blue, but depending on what he's wearing, look brown at times. By two months there was no doubt that Andi had brown eyes, so makes me think his may be blue.
Precious Boy!
