Eastman's favorites (2 years old)

I tried asking Eastman his favorite things, but a lot of his answers were exactly what his sister said.  (I asked her about her favorites first and when it was his turn, some of his answers were original, but some were what Andi had said).  Maybe that shows that he has a great memory. (Andi has an impeccable memory.)  It is true that he loves many of the things Andi does, but he is also quite opinionated.   I plan on asking Eastman these same questions each year and it will be fun to look back to see what has changed and what has stayed the same.  His answers are in orange, I have added a few thoughts of my own in parenthesis.

1. What is your favorite color? orange (When asked, he ususally does say that his favorite color is orange.  But on this day he said that his favorite color was pink, but we are going to go with orange.)

2. What is your favorite toy? Horsie  (Andi enjoys playing board games and is good at them. She is pretty competitive-this girl wants to win! She loves stuffed animals still. Much prefers to play with stuffed animals than with dolls or babies. Lately she has been setting up a zoo or petting zoo in the living room. She even collects tickets for admission.)

3. What is your favorite fruit? watermelon (Eastman is a pretty good fruit eater.  He likes bananas, cuties, raisins, and pineapple.  He does not like berries.)

4. What is your favorite TV show? Dora the Explorer (Without a doubt this is is favorite!  It is cute the way he says it, "Doya."  He loves Dora.  He often asks to watch Dora.  We are sure to keep a few (or several) on the DVR.  He really likes movies. His favorite movies right now are Big Hero 6, Frozen, Monsters Inc., and Despicable Me & Despicable Me 2.)

5. What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch? Chickfila  (He always eats really well when we get Chickfila.  He also likes cheeseburger patties with fires, Zoe's chicken salad, pizza, cereal, spaghetti, rotisserie chicken, he is not too picky.)

6. What is your favorite outfit? superhero cape and mask (Eastman likes to play dress up.  He has a superhero outfit that he likes to have us put on him.  It has chest that shows muscles and a blue cape.  He even likes to wear the face mask.  Pretty cute.  He also has an astronaut and pirate outfit.  He is a pretty good sport about dressing up and playing alongside his sister.  One day the two of them came downstairs in their swimsuits.  They were pretending to swim.  Sweet that Andi took the time to help Eastman get into his swimsuit (and that he was willing to let her put it on him).)

7. What is your favorite game? Hungry Hungry Hippos (We keep the board games on the top of Andi's closet shelf and he often goes in there and says, "Play a game.  I want...fill in the blank"  It is fun that he also likes to play games, like his sister.  Although he sometimes makes a mess of a game or doesn't want to sit and play until it is over.  He likes Hungry Hippos, The HoneyBee Tree, Who Shook Hook, Fireman Pet Rescue, and the Fishing Game.)

8. What is your favorite snack? Goldfish crackers (This child loves to snack!  I would say that currently he likes any kind of cracker.  He also loves cereal and granola bars.  And popcorn.  Give him a bowl with a snack in it and he will eat it happily.)

9. What is your favorite animal? Dinosaur  (He loves animals.  Loves the zoo.  Wants to go again.  Knows all of his animals and some of his favorite books to read are the ones with pictures of real animals.  He likes bugs too.  He will point to bugs when we are outside and want to know exactly what kind of bug it is.  You cannot just say bug, you have to tell him what kind.  He has a bug encyclopedia book that he loves to have read to him.)

10. What is your favorite song? I Love You (This was his answer.  Referring to Papa's favorite song...Eastman is happy to sing it for you if you ask...I love you, I love you and I always will, I will...  Eastman goes around the house singing quite often.  His go-to songs are Jesus Loves Me, Twinkle Twinkle, ABCs, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Happy Birthday to You.)

11. What is your favorite book? Dora Look and Find (Eastman likes books.  It is precious when he brings me books and tosses them in my lap (yes, sometimes, he literally throws them in my lap and we have to talk about not throwing books).  At night I will tell him to pic two books and he often has four.  He will count them: one, two and then again one two.  So to him he only counted to two.  He loves the Look and Find Dora and Elmo books that we have.  He also really likes Bobby Zoo.  (One of Andi's favorite's at this age.)  He likes Llama Llama Misses Mama and Llama Llama Time to Share.  He likes the Going to Bed Book and Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs).

12. Who is your best friend? Sutton (I asked him who is best friend is and he said Sutton.  Love it!  He does really like to play with Sutton and I am thankful since his parents are some of our best friends.  Andi also loves the Spencers, but she has said that they don't have a girl that she can play with yet (Callyn is almost a year old).  Eastman also loves to play with Jackson (again some of our best friends).  These boys love to play outside together.  Eastman's best friend at school is Henry.  When he comes home from school we will ask him what he did or who was there and the first name out of his mouth is always Henry.  Just yesterday, he got a note home in his backpack stating that he was a little sad and wanted to be held a lot.  His teachers said that Henry has been absent the past two days and they think that Eastman is missing his friend.)

13. What is your favorite cereal? Honey Nuts Cheerios (This boy likes all cereal.  He likes Corn Chex, Frosted Mini Wheats, Lucky Charms.  I have not found a cereal yet that he won't eat.  Milk and cereal is his go-to breakfast and snack.)

14. What is your favorite thing to do outside? go to the park   (Anytime we go for a walk or a stroller ride, he requests, "Go to the Park?"  He likes climbing the ladder, going down the slides, and swinging.  He also likes to explore.  He points out every little thing as we walk and wants to know what it is or what kind of bug it is.)

15. What is your favorite drink? Chocolate milk and water  (This is all he will drink.  Well, plain white milk too.  But he almost always wants chocolate milk and water.)

16. What is your favorite holiday? my birthday  (Since we just celebrated his birthday, naturally his birthday is his favorite.  He loves to sing, "Happy Birthday to You."  He loves opening presents.  When we go to other parties, he thinks that he should get to open presents too.)

17. What do you like to take to bed with you at night? Horsie and Chocolate (If you ask him tonight what animal he wants in his bed, it will be Horsie (a horse) and Chocolate (a puppy)...but he will also want Fluffy Dog and Tiny White Kitty and Baby Sheep.  The truth is, he really wants Momma in his bed at night.  He has a difficult time staying in his bed when he wakes up and realizes that mom is not there right beside him.  He cries out for Momma to come upstairs and when I get there he requests, "Lay down a little bit in my bed."  So I do.  I lay down and snuggle with him and he is never ready to let me go back downstairs.  He will say, "Momma never leave you!"  I will reassure him and tell him that I will never leave him.  That I love him and will always be right here when he needs me.  This precious boy just does not like to be alone.  He wants his Momma, and I am ok with that.  I do want him to sleep on his own, but I have to admit that it is precious how much he loves his momma.  A couple of times he has gotten out of his bed and gone into Andi's room.  One morning Andi and Eastman came downstairs and Andi said that Eastman slept in her bed with her last night.  Hmmm...I wonder what time he wandered in there.  He must have been pretty quiet because we did not hear him on the monitor and it did not wake Andi up.  Sweet boy just loves to snuggle.)

18. What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? Cereal  (Like I said before he loves cereal.  Sometimes the first thing he says in the morning is, "Go eat cereal."

19. What do you want for dinner on your birthday? pizza  (We went to Napoli's for Eastman's birthday.  This is our next door neighbors' restaurant.  Eastman happily ate pizza.  Andi does not care for pizza.  She instead got plain spaghetti noodles (no sauce) and a size of Canadian bacon slices.  Eastman is pretty easy to please.  Timmy and Delphina were so sweet to use.  After we were done eating, they brought us dessert (four different kinds) and then wouldn't let us pay for dinner at all.  Said it was their treat for Eastman's birthday.  They are too sweet.  We then came home and watched a movie, Eastman's choice of course, and he chose Monsters vs Aliens.  He said "It's my favorite."  A perfect Friday night for Eastman (and all of us) is to eat an easy dinner and watch a movie.  Although he does often ask if friends are coming over, sometimes on a Friday evening, we just like to relax as a family.  Lots of snuggles during the movie and of course he requests popcorn.

20. What do you want to be when you grow up? baseball player (He does love to watch Shawn pitch.  He will say, "Go Texas Rangers!"  Or we will chant, "Let's go Rangers" (and say "clap clap clap clap clap"  When we are watching the game, Eastman will ask, "Where is Uncle Shawn?  In the bullpen?"  That's right, we tell him.  He is in the bullpen until it is his turn to pitch.  When watching baseball he will say, "Yay!  Baseball!"  He really likes to go to the games.  Not sure if it is more for the game and atmosphere or more for the popcorn and ice cream.  :) )
